Battlefield 6 was officially revealed on July 24 and a multiplayer reveal date of July 31 was announced. With the reveal happening later today (linked below), it is being speculated that it will also open up pre-orders for the game. Not only that, the latest leak hints at dates for the open and closed beta, a subject that has been heavily discussed over the past couple weeks.
The information comes from Insider Gaming and seems to be conclusive about the beta dates. Firstly, it mentions that Battlefield 6 pre-orders will go live during the multiplayer reveal that is scheduled for later today, July 31. Secondly, there will be a closed beta before the general public can get access to the game and it will start on August 7, ending the next day. Codes for the closed beta will be shared through Twitch drops from the many content creators streaming the multiplayer reveal. Those who pre-order the game will also get a code.
Third, the open beta is said to commence on August 9 and end on August 10. This short playtest will be followed by a second open beta starting August 14 and ending August 17. It should be noted that EA has not shared any information on the dates for the open beta, but has confirmed there will be one, with the ability to choose between locked and unlocked weapons.
As for the game’s release date, EA had accidentally hinted at an October window through its legal disclaimers page. The page, which was swiftly taken down, mentioned that pre-orders will end on October 10, suggesting the game will release on October 11 or possibly even October 10.
The multiplayer reveal is expected to showcase the different multiplayer modes but whether it will include the free-to-play battle royale mode is uncertain at this point. It could be that EA has plans of revealing the battle royale mode at a separate event at a later date.
