The hype for publisher EA and developer DICE’s Battlefield 6 is at an all-time high as the game racked up a staggering 500,000 wishlists on Steam over the weekend between July 26th and 27th. This is just a day after Battlefield 6's first reveal trailer dropped, indicating strong player interest and hype around the title.
The impressive wishlist stats were shared by Alinea Analytics CEO Rickard Linder in a LinkedIn post on July 28, 2025. The Battlefield community responded strongly to the single-player campaign trailer, which centers on NATO elements going up against the in-game Pax Armata military company’s attack on New York.
The official Battlefield 6 reveal trailer has garnered 7,803,687 views with 473,000 likes. These views don’t account for subsequent reuploads of the trailer, which have already pushed total viewership into tens of millions.
Further insight from Alinea Analytics reports that roughly 60% of wishlists came from players who actively played Battlefield 2042 on Steam, despite negative reception from some quarters.
Battlefield 6’s Steam page has been live since July 24, and the monumental count of wishlists has propelled the game to the top of Steam’s trending upcoming titles, outpacing even the highly anticipated UE5-based Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and EA Sports FC 26.
So far, the franchise is still recovering from the bumpy launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021, which, despite selling 4.23 million units, was met with negative criticism amid game-breaking bugs, glitches, and missing features.
According to SteamDB, Battlefield 2042 had an all-time peak of 107,376 players on Steam, with a 46.7% user rating out of 303,673 reviews. But owing to Battlefield 6’s strong positive reception, it's speculated that the game will easily surpass these benchmarks.
The gaming community has been awaiting a revival of the franchise, hoping for a return to the nostalgia that chaotic and highly destructible environments which the Battlefield franchise was originally known for offered.
Battlefield 6 is slated for a multiplayer reveal on July 31, 2025, in Los Angeles, where hundreds of content creators and streamers will get a hands-on experience with the multiplayer mode.
Moreover, the game was leaked for an October 11, 2025, release via EA’s legal disclaimer page, which has subsequently been taken down. Battlefield 6 will be available on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam, skipping the eighth-generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
