The Battlefield 6 reveal trailer just aired (July 24, 10:55 EST) and it was a short teaser for the single-player campaign. While there was no actual gameplay, it did show a few clips from previously leaked work in progress footage. From the trailer, it looks like action-packed all-out warfare gameplay with ground combat, air combat, environmental destruction, and more. At the end, it reveals that the multiplayer modes will be unveiled at the end of the month.
The short trailer shows game engine footage that establishes the storyline. It kicks off with the president making an announcement about an organization called Pax Armata that has successfully executed a large-scale attack on US soil. The footage shows some of the vehicles including tanks, jets, helicopters, and a lot of environmental destruction.
The trailer also revealed that the multiplayer modes will be showcased on July 31. It is likely that the next trailer will include details about the free-to-play battle royale mode as well. But whether it will include actual gameplay footage or be more of a teaser like this one, we’ll have to wait and see.
One of the clips from the reveal trailer was of a dam exploding after being hit by a few missiles. While this was game engine footage, the gameplay footage for this scene was leaked early this month (July) and at the time, it was unfinished. It is still hard to say how the actual game will look but judging by past leaks, the open beta should start from August 4 with content creators and influences getting access to the sooner.
