EA has pretty much confirmed that a battle royale mode is coming to Battlefield 6. A lot has already leaked about the game mode, including an image for the map and the points of interest (POI). Now, a short clip has leaked showing the top-down view of a lively section of the map, seemingly a residential area of LA.
The short clip has been shared on the 1BF Telegram group, the source for a lot of Battlefield 6 leaks. It has been credited to a dataminer named ‘Rader’ and shows a top-down view of what seems to be a residential area in Los Angeles. It shows several houses with swimming pools, with some buildings partially destroyed. It then switches to a first-person player view of the inside of a house that has part of the wall blown out. That’s about all the 10-second clip offers.
Recently, another dataminer had shared a preview of the full map with several POIs. Looking at the clip, it could be from the Marina/Main Street North area or the Golf Resort area of the map. The official teaser shared by EA also showed a residential area, rather a house with a swimming pool with foot soldiers, a golf cart, and a tank running through it. What it did confirm was just like Operation Firestorm, the battle royale mode from Battlefield V, there will be a ring of fire that will continuously reduce the map size.
Battlefield 6 is slated for an October 10 release. The open beta will start August 9 and end on August 10. There will be another longer stretch starting August 14 and ending August 17. EA has confirmed that the game will run at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as support mouse and keyboard on consoles. There will be cross-play functionality that prioritizes the platform but players will be able to turn if off completely as well.
