Battlefield 6 will not let you completely level the map by destroying everything, but it will be more tactical. Vince Zempalla asks players to trust the developers as they ensure a fun experience playing Battlefield 6.

EA has pulled the covers off of Battlefield 6 and shared details about the single-player campaign, multiplayer game modes, classes, map creator, and more. Following the single-player reveal trailer on July 24 and the multiplayer reveal on July 31, the open and closed beta dates have been made official. EA executive VP Vince Zempalla recently spoke with PCGamesN and shared more details about the game, including the environmental destruction that has been a staple of Battlefield games.

Battlefield games are known for their all-out warfare gameplay with air combat, ground vehicles, foot soldiers, naval combat, all happening at the same time. With constant explosions and gunshots all around, it immerses players into the combat. One element that adds to the immersion and also takes it to the next level is environmental destruction. Battlefield 6 is aiming to strike the perfect balance between destroy everything and scripted destruction with its 'Tactical Destruction' system.

Zempalla told PCGamesN that the destruction in Battlefield 6 will offer players “unparalleled levels of freedom.” He went on to say, “We make maps very purposefully for fun, combat sight lines, and performance. So if you're able to control that destruction, [it can still be] different, because you might blow up this building one time, this building another, or nothing at all, that's where the flexibility comes in.”

The executive also explained that while Battlefield 6 will not have total random destruction allowing players to effectively level the battlefield, the team has made sure that the destruction will “not leave the map in a less fun state, because that would just ruin the gameplay, and it is all about [creating] the most fun gameplay."

Battlefield 6 will release October 10 but open beta kicks off August 9, 1 AM PT, and ends on August 11, 1 AM PT. There will also be a second phase which starts August 14 and ends August 17.
