Retro Fighters' newest product is an adapter that lets users connect up to four GameCube Controllers to the Nintendo Switch 2. The dock, which is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, will work with an original GameCube Controller or Retro Fighters' own BattlerGC Pro controller.

Retro Fighters has announced a new accessory for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new accessory is called the BattleDock Adapter and it allows users to connect up to 4 GameCube controllers to Nintendo's newest handheld when docked.

The BattleDock Adapter isn't a replacement for the Nintendo Switch 2's dock, instead it works with the Switch 2's official dock. The BattleDock plugs into the USB ports of the Switch 2's dock, so it won't brick your Switch 2 (available on Amazon for $499.99). According to Retro Fighters, the BattleDock Adapter was made to ‘reduce the inherent input latency of 4ms provided on the official GameCube to Switch adapter’.

The dock has a weighted core and rubberized feet that prevent it from slipping. It also has replaceable faceplates, so users can customize its look. In the box, users will get four faceplates — Spice Orange, Indigo, Jet Black, and Platinum Silver — that are reminiscent of the different colors of the standard edition Nintendo GameCube console.

According to the Kickstarter page, if the project reaches $100,000, there will be a faceplate booster pack that includes three new colors — Smoke Black, White, and Comet Red. However, this booster pack will not be included in the standard backed tiers but as an add-on. Retro Fighters has also revealed that there may be more faceplates in the future, some of which may be tied to special events.

The BattleDock doesn't have a price yet but it has already surpassed its goal of $10,000. As at the time of writing, the campaign has received over $24,000 and it still has 19 days to go. Those who back the project will receive a 10% discount off the retail price and access to exclusive perks.
