8BitDo releases Pro 3 wireless controller with Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility and extensive customisation options
8BitDo has returned with another new controller, less than a week after introducing a Space Grey Limited Edition version of the SN30 Pro to celebrate its 12th anniversary. This time, the company has updated its Pro controller line with the Pro 3, which blurs the line with its recent Ultimate 2 options.
Incidentally, the Pro 3 is the mysterious new 8BitDo wireless controller that emerged on Amazon a few weeks ago. Not only does the Pro 3 offer a 2.4 GHz mode, but it also features wired and Bluetooth connectivity for Apple, Android, Nintendo Switch, SteamOS and Windows compatibility. Moreover, the controller contains the following hardware within a 242.4 g and 153.6 x 100.5 x 64.5 mm housing:
- 2x configurable rear paddles
- 6-axis gyroscope (Steam/Switch)
- Ball-top joystick caps
- Hall effect triggers
- L4/R4 bumpers
- Magnetic swappable ABXY buttons
- TMR joysticks
- Trigger mode switches
While not mentioned by the company on its social media channels yet, the Pro 3 is already available to order from 8BitDo directly or on Amazon in a choice between G Classic, Grey and Purple colour options. For reference, all colour options retail for $69.99 with charging docks included. At the time of publication, Pro 3 pre-orders should begin shipping on August 12 from 8BitDo and Amazon.
