Mysterious new 8BitDo wireless controller with Bluetooth surfaces before release
8BitDo has delivered plenty of new controllers lately. In short, the company has focused on refreshing the Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller. Most recently, it has introduced a Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Edition of its Windows variant, full details of which we have covered separately.
Now, popular X account Wario64 has brought people's attention to a mysterious new controller by 8BitDo that can already be pre-ordered on Amazon. Priced at $69.99, the controller is simply listed as the '8BitDo Wireless Controller Bluetooth Gamepad' with compatibility offered for Android, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Windows.
At this stage, 8BitDo has not even added an image of the controller in question. However, it has teased that the controller comes in purple, of which there is already a corresponding version of the Ultimate 2 Wireless (curr. $59.99 on Amazon). Thus, we doubt that the controller is a new version of the Ultimate 2 Wireless.
According to the Amazon listing, 8BitDo will release its mysterious new controller on July 15. Incidentally, we cannot find the listing's Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN), B0FFGQ6J35, on any other Amazon websites apart from Amazon US.
