OneRugged, a Chinese rugged tablet maker, has unveiled its latest Windows rugged tablet, the M82A. The rugged tablet is designed to withstand harsh outdoor environments, thanks to its MIL-STD 810H certification and IP67 waterproof rating. The company claims that the tablet can survive extreme temperatures from -20 °C to 60 °C (-4 ° F to 140 °F) and hazardous environments.
Unlike the other 10- or 12-inch Windows tablets, such as the Durabook R10, the M82A comes with a compact form factor. Speaking more precisely, it boasts an 8-inch FHD (1200 x 1920p) display that delivers a peak brightness of 550 nits. Dimension-wise, the rugged tablet measures 236.8 x 155.8 x 21.6 mm (9.3 x 6.13 x 0.85 inches) and weighs around 850 grams (1.87 lbs).
Under the hood, the OneRugged M82A is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U or i7-1255U processor paired with 16 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 512 GB of SSD and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. Furthermore, it has an active cooling technology, which further keeps the tablet cool during heavy workloads.
A 43.32 Wh battery powers the entire unit and supports 48 W wired charging. Speaking of the camera, the company hasn’t revealed any information about the camera module. What we know is that the tablet has stylus support. For connectivity, there are a decent number of ports, including a USB-C, USB-A, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a micro-SD card slot, and RJ45. Other features include a fingerprint sensor, a barcode scanner module, 4G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and NFC support.
