A "control center for outdoor adventures", this is how Cubot advertises the Tab KingKong S. It’s a particularly rugged tablet that supports two SIM cards and comes with a powerful flashlight with three settings.

The manufacturer Cubot offers rugged products and we have already reviewed some of the manufacturer's smartphones that are intended for use in harsher environments. With the Tab KingKong S, the manufacturer is now launching another Android tablet. It supposedly meets the requirements of the IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H standards, which likely means that the tablet can be dropped or exposed to water without damage. The tablet is already available as a direct import for a price of €313 or $443.

The KingKong S is 0.61 inches thick and weighs 2 lbs. It also features reinforced corners, and the increased weight is at least partly caused by the unusually large 15,300mAh battery. Meanwhile, the slate is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T616 SoC, which we have already tested in various devices such as the Teclast M50 Pro. The processor comes with a 4G cellular modem and supports dual SIM cards. Since only two card slots are available, users have to choose between two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card for storage expansion. That said, Cubot’s new tablet sports 256GB of internal storage and 6GB RAM.

The KingKong S runs on Android 15, but users should not expect any major software updates. Additionally, the tablet has a 10.1-inch HD+ screen with 90Hz, while the main camera has a resolution of 48 megapixels and the front camera has 16 megapixels. The large flashlight on the back consist of 59 individual LEDs and delivers up to 770 lumens. A carrying strap and a kickstand are included in the box.
