Xiaomi has released many tablets this year, ranging from the affordable Redmi Pad 2 (curr. $167 on Amazon) to the high-end Pad 8 Pro equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Now, it has begun teasing the release of a new Black Shark tablet, which it has been promoting for a few days on its Black Shark Malaysia Facebook page.
For reference, details of a new Black Shark tablet surfaced earlier this month. From the looks of things, the tablet being teased is the same one that appeared in recent regulatory filings. Officially, Xiaomi has confirmed the inclusion of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series chipset. As it stands, this chipset is expected to be the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which also underpins the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro.
However, this 4 nm chipset will be joined by an 8.8-inch display, possibly the same one that Xiaomi already offers inside the Pad Mini and Redmi K Pad. In other words, the next Black Shark release will be a compact gaming tablet. Other highlights apparently include a 'signature cooling system'; Black Shark has not elaborated further yet. Nonetheless, last week's leak also highlighted the inclusion of a 7,300 mAh battery. Full release details remain unknown for now, though.
