Lenovo has introduced a new Windows laptop after refreshing its ThinkPad series last month during IFA 2025 in Berlin. This time, the company has turned to its Lecoo brand, which it offers exclusively in China.
Specifically the company has launched the Lecoo Air 16, a laptop with a much lighter housing than other 16-inch machines or even 15-inch laptops. For instance, the latest MacBook Air 15 (curr. $1,149 on Amazon) weighs in at just over 1.5 kg. By contrast, the Lecoo Air 16 tips the scales at 1 kg thanks to its magnesium alloy housing.
Moreover, the Lecoo Air 16 is only 10 mm thick at its thinnest point. Nonetheless, the laptop leverages a 2.5K and 120 Hz IPS display, as well as a 60 Wh battery and a zero-lattice style keyboard with a built-in numberpad. As the photos above and below show, Lenovo has also found room for a full-sized HDMI and USB Type-A ports.
The Lecoo Air 16 is available for CNY 4,999 (~$702) in China with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Unfortunately, Lenovo has rounded off the laptop with a Core Ultra 5 125H processor from Intel's Meteor Lake family. A 14-core processor, the Core Ultra 5 125H struggles in GPU-heavy tasks and with power efficiency compared with its Core Ultra 5 225H successor, as well as Intel Alder Lake and AMD Strix Point equivalents. There is no word on an international release yet.
