The Fujitsu FMV UX-K3 sports a chassis that is partly made of carbon and a magnesium-lithium alloy. As a result, the laptop weighs only 1.4 lbs and is just 0.7 inches thick. This makes the notebook exactly as light as last year's Dynabook Lifebook WU5/J3, so it shares the title of the world's lightest laptop.
The biggest compromise Fujitsu had to make is arguably the battery. It only holds 31Wh, which should only allow for seven hours of video playback. It charges via USB-C at up to 65 watts, and the included power adapter is extremely light as well as it weighs just 0.33 lbs. That being said, the laptop should offer decent performance thanks to an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U, which has two performance cores, a total of ten efficiency cores and boost clock speeds of up to 4.8GHz.
The remaining specifications include 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. Meanwhile, the 14-inch IPS panel has 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a brightness of 400 nits. Fujitsu further offers a 1080p webcam with a privacy shutter, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Moreover, the laptop offers a versatile selection of ports including USB-C, two USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader.
Price and availability
The Fujitsu FMV UX-K3 ultrabook is available at the FMV Store Japan for the equivalent of roughly $1,860. In Europe and many other regions, Fujitsu FMV laptops are typically only available via import from Japan.
