Launched at IFA 2025, the most powerful ThinkPad models have finally made it to the market. Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 3, ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 and ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 Intel, among others, are now available in the US. They all come with powerful Nvidia RTX GPUs and Intel Arrow Lake H and HX CPUs.

Most Lenovo ThinkPad models launch in the spring, but not so the Lenovo workstation laptops of the P series. Last year, they came out in late summer. This year, they were even later, as Lenovo only announced them after the end of summer at IFA 2025 in Berlin. Now, the new workstation ThinkPad laptops are finally available in the USA, all of them with Intel processors and Nvidia dedicated GPUs.

At the entry level sit the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 Intel and Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 Intel. Both start below the $1,400 mark. Notably, the P14s Gen 6 is the only option with a 14.5-inch screen and thus the most lightweight (starting at 1.6 kg), too. Both use the Intel Arrow Lake H class CPUs and up to the Nvidia RTX Pro 1000

One step up from these is the Lenovo ThinkPad P16v Gen 3. This model also comes with Intel Arrow Lake H, but it can be ordered with the Nvidia RTX Pro 2000 instead. It also features a bigger battery, two M.2 SSDs and an SD card reader, but it is heavier (2.1 kg) than the P16s (1.8 kg) and more expensive, starting at $2,120.

Rounding out the Intel Arrow Lake H lineup are the ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 and its cousin ThinkPad T1g Gen 8. Succeeding the ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 (available on Amazon), they have the most premium design, with an all-metal chassis and haptic touchpad as well as Thunderbolt 5, competing with the likes of the Apple MacBook Pro 16, HP ZBook Studio or Dell Pro Max Premium. The P1 Gen 8 tops out at the Nvidia RTX Pro 2000, while the ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 can be configured with up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070. Both command a premium price, starting at $2,850 or $2,800 respectively.

The top of the line option is the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 3. It is the heaviest, with a weight of 2.54 kg. This is the most versatile, with four RAM slots and up to 192 GB - the other machines are limited to 96 GB and 64 GB (T1g/P1 only) as well as a total of three M.2 SSDs. It also features a modular GPU, with the best option being the Nvidia RTX Pro 5000. Different from the other ThinkPad workstations, the ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 ships with the Intel Arrow Lake HX CPUs that have more CPU cores, and it also comes with Thunderbolt 5 as well as 2.5 GBit Ethernet. It starts at $2,800.
