YouTube fixes bug that made comments disappear

Google has resolved a persistent iPad bug that erased video titles, descriptions, channel details and comments whenever users exited full-screen mode on YouTube. The issue, first flagged roughly a week ago, left a blank space beneath the video player that persisted even after switching clips, restarting devices or reinstalling the app entirely. This made it particularly disruptive for users who rely on the tablet for YouuTube streaming.

The latest YouTube app update for iPad (version 21.33.6) remedies the issue, though Google stops short of explicitly stating that this specific version contains the fix. The same update also adjusts YouTube's Android seek interface, so double-tapping to skip forward or backward now displays a scrub bar alongside the elapsed time, a cosmetic tweak unrelated to the underlying bug.

For those previously affected, the fix should eliminate the need for an awkward workaround that required rotating the iPad between portrait and landscape while still in full screen just to reload the missing interface. Users who haven't yet updated are advised to download the latest version from the App Store.
