Some recreational athletes might spend four figures on a new Garmin smartwatch, but for everyday workouts and outdoor activities, more affordable rugged smartwatches can be more than sufficient. In this segment, Amazfit is one of the better-known brands, and the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro sits near the top of the company’s current lineup.
Therefore, prospective smartwatch buyers might want to take a look at Woot’s current offer for this exact wearable. To be more precise, the Amazon-owned online store has discounted the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro to $249 with free shipping for Prime subscribers. This is a considerable 37% markdown in comparison to the official MSRP of $399.
Despite the affordable price point, the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro is supposed to be quite durable and comes with many outdoor features. The watch also sports a bright AMOLED display with up to 3,000 nits, although we only measured a peak of 2,650 nits in our comprehensive review of the larger 48mm variant.
Either way, the T-Rex 3 Pro is equipped with sapphire glass for better scratch resistance, while the 10 ATM water resistance makes it suitable for swimming and even some diving. We further praised the long battery life, the rugged design and offline navigation functionality.
That said, there are some notable compromises compared to high-end Garmin watches like the Fenix 8. For instance, there’s no built-in ECG feature and the selection of apps is significantly smaller than on Apple Watch or Wear OS-based smartwatches. Even with those caveats, $249 is a very good price for the capable Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro.
