Garmin MARQ Gen 3 said to feature Fenix 9 sensors in premium housing
Rumors have been circulating for months that the Garmin Fenix 8 ($999 on Amazon) is set to receive a successor before the end of 2026. While the Fenix 9 may only be available with an AMOLED display, the Garmin Enduro 4 is said to offer nearly the same features as the Fenix 9, but combine them with a MiP display featuring integrated solar cells to achieve the longest possible battery life.
According to Garmin Rumors, Garmin is also currently developing the MARQ Gen 3, which is said to be technically based on the Fenix 9 as well. The Garmin MARQ Gen 3 is said to differ from the Fenix 9 primarily through the use of higher-quality materials. At least one variant reportedly features a titanium case combined with a ceramic bezel and curved sapphire glass covering the display. This is intended to make the MARQ Gen 3 resemble a luxury analog watch rather than a conventional smartwatch.
However, this is also expected to make the MARQ Gen 3 significantly more expensive. While no specific details on the price are available yet, some variants of the MARQ Gen 2 already cost more than $3,000. Like the MARQ Gen 2, the Garmin MARQ Gen 3 is expected to be offered in several different variants, including Athlete, Adventurer, Aviator, Commander, and Golfer.
Garmin is therefore once again planning versions whose design and feature set are optimized for athletes, pilots, captains, and golfers. In terms of display, processor, sensors, and health and fitness features, the MARQ Gen 3 is expected to be virtually identical to the Fenix 9. The launch is scheduled to coincide with that of the Fenix 9 at the earliest, but the exact launch date has not yet been announced.
