Garmin delivers new update to multiple smartwatches with intervals workout improvement

Earlier this week, Garmin released a new beta update for the entire Instinct 3 range, including the budget-oriented Instinct E (curr. $199 on Amazon). Listed as Beta Version 15.16, the update was the sixth in this beta development cycle, commencing with Beta Version 15.08 at the start of July.
Now, Garmin has snuck out another beta update for the same smartwatches, despite rolling out six beta updates in July. This time, the company has transitioned Instinct 3 series development to Beta Version 15.17, which it has issued as an over-the-air (OTA) download.
In a forum post, Garmin clarifies that Beta Version 15.17 should resolve a single issue found in v15.16. Specifically, the new update is said to fix a bug that caused pace to drop out during interval training. Given the limited changelog, we suspect that a v15.xx stable update will be arriving sooner rather than later.
Reportedly, Garmin has already offered Beta Version 15.17 to all Beta Program participants with Instinct 3 series smartwatches. If that is not the case for you, then you can request the update manually after heading through the Main Menu on your smartwatch to System and Software Update before tapping 'Check for Updates'. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
