Ugreen launches new 160 W fast GaN charger with WiFi, built-in cable and display

The Nexode Pro 160 W charger with a retractable cable is the new addition to Ugreen’s Nexode Pro series lineup. Since most of the models in the Nexode Pro lineup come with a built-in TFT display, the latest generation charger is no different. It features a smart display that shows essential information such as real-time power, status, current, voltage, and temperature. 

Interestingly, the charger has Ugreen Connect companion app support, and connection can be established via WiFi and Bluetooth. The app further allows users to tweak the charger's settings, such as remote power adjustments and safety shutdowns, while the next-generation hardware will receive OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates. The app support is the latest addition; however, it was missing in the last generation, the Nexode Pro 160 W X774 model. We reviewed this model recently, and you can read our in-depth review here. 

The GaNInfinity-powered charger delivers a maximum of 160 W of power output across three USB-C outputs and one USB-A port. Speaking of power allocation, the retractable USB-C cable or USB-C1 ports can offer up to 140 W power output, while the USB-C2 and USB-A can deliver up to 100 W and 22.5 W, respectively. That means the charger can charge up to four devices at once. Plus, the charging accessory supports a wide range of fast-charging protocols, including PD 3.2, QC, PPS, AFC, SCP, UFCS, and PD 3.1. 

The retractable cable can be extended up to 27.6 inches (70 cm) with eight adjustable lengths. Dimensionally, it measures 82 x 36.5 x 73 mm (3.23 x 1.44 x 2.87 inches). At 310 grams (0.68 lbs), the charger is slightly on the heavier side. Though, it’s compact enough to fit in most of the backpacks. 

As for price, the Ugreen Nexode Pro 160 W charger is priced at $149. As a part of the launch, the Ugreen official store is offering a 20% discount (using the UL95127 discount code) on its original MSRP, bringing the price down from $149 to $119.99 for a limited time.
