Asus launches new affordable charger with 100W fast charging and slim design

Asus has launched the a-bean 100W charger in China. It's an affordable power adapter with a four-port configuration. The launch price is CNY 179, around $27, and it has a slim overall design.
Among the four, three of them are USB-C ports, and Asus highlights that the C1 and C2 have support for 100W fast charging. The C3, on the other hand, can max out at 20W, while the single USB-A port can offer up to 22.5W. When all the ports are in use, the C1 will max out at 45W, C2 at 30W, while the C3 and USB-A will offer a combined power output of 20W.
These power ratings, paired with support for multiple protocols such as PD, QC, SCP, and PPS, make this GaN charger a good pick for those looking for a versatile travel charger. Of course, a higher power output rating would've made it more suitable for charging gaming laptops, but the 100W fast charging support makes it more than good enough for gaming handhelds.
The company further highlights the safety features of this a-bean 100W fast charger, including protection against over-temperature, over-current, and short circuits. Asus is offering this GaN adapter in three colorways, and they all have a minimalistic outlook.
It's still unclear whether Asus will launch this a-bean 100W in the global market, but for those who might be interested, the Ugreen Nexode 100W charger has a similar set of features (curr. $33.23 on Amazon).
