Suunto Race 3 and Race 3 S smartwatches leak with AMOLED displays and new subscription
The Suunto Race 2 ($499 on Amazon) was released in August 2025, about a year after the Suunto Race S and two years after the first-generation Suunto Race. Now, the launch of the next two models in the series appears to be imminent, as Reddit user Capable_Fan_3008 was able to post a screenshot of Google search results, which have since been removed, revealing details about the Suunto Race 3 and the Suunto Race 3 S.
Gadgets and Wearables was able to find further clues about the running smartwatch on Suunto’s website. According to the information, the launch is still scheduled for 2026. The Suunto Race 3 S is said to feature a round AMOLED display with a screen diagonal of 1.32 inches, protected by durable sapphire glass. The Suunto Race 3 is slightly larger, with a 1.5-inch screen diagonal, but is said to use only the more affordable mineral glass to protect the display from scratches. The focus of the larger model is reportedly on long battery life.
The leak also mentions dual-band GPS and support for a new, interactive Suunto AI Coach, though using it after a three-month trial period will require a paid subscription. The AI chatbot is said to be able to answer questions about when to train, which workout is most effective, or how changes in sleep and recovery can affect the achievement of training goals. The current version of Suunto Coach isn’t quite as advanced, but it also doesn’t require a subscription.
