Suunto unveils HR chest strap with Bluetooth multipoint and brand-new sensor

Along with the brand-new Suunto Run 2, the manufacturer also unveiled a new heart rate chest strap today. Suunto has fundamentally redesigned both the design and the electronics. The new chest strap design is intended to reduce static interference, while the electrical heart rate sensor is designed to filter out signal artifacts more effectively, allowing the measurement curve to track actual exertion even more accurately.

Another new feature is the ability to transmit heart rate data not just to one device, but to three devices simultaneously, so that it can be displayed at the same time on, for example, a bike computer, a smartwatch, and a smartphone. The built-in memory has been expanded and can now store 20 hours of data locally, compared to 3.5 hours in the previous model. The chest strap is designed to achieve a runtime of 460 hours on a single CR2032 button cell battery.
