Rogbid has unveiled the SpinR, a $49.99 rugged-style smartwatch with a 1.7-inch display, an optical scroll wheel for navigation, a 1100 mAh battery, and a metal-front, plastic-back build aimed at the budget segment.

Rogbid's new smartwatch just became official. SpinR is the company's new rugged-style smartwatch, priced at $49.99 and available in Orange or Black. Its headline feature, per its name, is an optical scroll wheel built into the side crown. Users can navigate menus without touching the screen, which should be useful for those with outdoor and gym use in mind. Such scroll wheels use light to register scrolling movements, and they are typically found in gaming mice.

The case measures 51 mm across and 13.4 mm thick, which makes it a somewhat large watch by most standards. It comes with a 260 mm silicone strap for a 280 mm total length. The 1.7-inch display runs at 360x360 pixels, a respectable pixel density on paper, though Rogbid doesn't specify the panel type, so it's unclear whether this is AMOLED or a cheaper LCD. However, considering the company's quite transparent regarding the use of AMOLED displays in its other launches, the latter seems like the likely option.

Internally, the SpinR runs on a 7074 A7 chipset with 128 MB of flash storage. Heart rate tracking uses the HX3918 sensor, and motion is handled by ST's accelerometer, both fairly standard components for this price bracket. Connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.4, and there's no indication of built-in GPS, which means location tracking should depend entirely on the paired phone.

Battery capacity sits at 1100 mAh with a claimed 100+ days of standby time. That figure almost certainly reflects idle conditions rather than daily use with the display and sensors active. Charging is magnetic, and the watch is rated IPX8, with Rogbid specifying a 30-meter (3 ATM) depth rating.

Build-wise, the front shell is zinc alloy with a vacuum-plated finish, while the back panel is plastic. You can check out the SpinR on the official Rogbid website.
