Casio's newest G-Steel watches spotted in first high-definition renders
We've already covered the leaked specs on Casio's rubber-strap GST-B1000 pair, but the pictures backing those specs up were a little rough, just like every other listing in that reveal cycle. However, now we have a new batch of renders (thanks to @geesgshock on Instagram) with a proper look at what's coming, close enough to make out details the earlier images just couldn't.
Let's start with the dial. If you're familiar with the GST-B1000 lineup, the dial won't bring any surprises. It's busier than a typical G-Steel face, packing a day-of-week subdial on the left (complete with an ON/OFF toggle and AL/TR/ST markings for alarm, timer, and stopwatch) alongside a 24-hour subdial on the right, a 5 o'clock date window, and a ribbed horizontal texture running behind the G-Shock logo. One small detail stands out: the blue GST-B1000-2A has its date wheel in white, while the black GST-B1000-1A keeps its wheel black to match. It's a small choice, but it's the kind of thing that makes a a lot of difference, legibility-wise.
If you flip the watch over, there's more to confirm. The caseback shows a stainless steel plate stamped with Carbon Core Guard branding, Tough Solar markings, module number 5748, and a 20-bar water resistance rating. There's a red resin accent piece on the back of the black G-Steel, and a blue one on the other one.
Dimensions get a small update too — 46.9 x 44.2 x 11.6 mm. The bigger number, though, is still the weight: 118 grams on the bracelet version drops all the way to 58 grams here, which is one of the key pieces of info here. These watches are expected to go official next month (August).
