Lenovo launches new affordable 280Hz gaming monitor with HDR10 support

Lenovo has launched an affordable gaming monitor in China, the Legion 27-1R. It has a high refresh rate IPS panel, but with an FHD resolution. Specifically, the screen has a 280Hz refresh rate, and the company claims that the response rate can go as low as 1ms (GtG), which should lead to a smooth and fluid overall experience.

The 27-inch IPS panel is also said to feature a 99% sRGB color coverage, and thanks to the 400 nits brightness rating, it brings HDR10 support. There's support for AdaptiveSync as well, which should further enhance the gaming experience on this Legion monitor.

Another highlight of this Legion gaming monitor is the design. It has a sleek chassis with minimal bezels on the three sides. Lenovo has also paired it with a streamlined stand, which allows vertical and horizontal adjustments. There's support for a 100mm VESA mount for those who might want to switch the stand (NB Gaming Monitor VESA Arm curr. $99.90 on Amazon).

As for the port configuration, it's decent but nothing out of the ordinary. For video input, it has two HDMI 2.1 and one DisplayPort 1.4, while there's a 3.5mm port for audio output. Lenovo launched the Legion 27-1R in China with an affordable price tag, retailing for CNY 799, about $118. There's no word about the global launch yet, but the company has already listed the gaming monitor on its PSREF website, suggesting it should be available globally soon.
