Mobile monitors are generally less ergonomic than conventional screens because they cannot be positioned at eye level. LiftVue is designed to solve this very problem. Thanks to a clever stand, the screen can be effortlessly placed above the display of a laptop or tablet.

LiftVue is an unusual portable monitor for two reasons. First, because the screen is available not only with a 15-inch or 16-inch panel, but also with a screen diagonal of 18.5 inches. And second, because LiftVue features a fold-out stand that allows the screen to be tilted and adjusted in height by up to 47.5 centimeters.

This allows the screen to be comfortably positioned at eye level while also requiring less desk space, since the screen can be placed directly above, rather than next to, a laptop display. While this aluminum stand makes LiftVue more versatile, it’s likely to make the portable monitor significantly heavier as well – EfficFold cites a weight of 1.4 kilograms, though it’s unclear whether this figure applies to the smallest 15-inch model or the 18.5-inch version.

The LiftVue features an affordable IPS panel that, in the 15-inch version, manages only 1,080p resolution and covers 72 percent of the sRGB color space. The 16-inch and 18.5-inch models, on the other hand, offer a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and full sRGB coverage. The screens have a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a brightness of 300 nits. They connect to a computer or tablet via USB-C.

Pricing and availability

LiftVue is currently being funded on Kickstarter. The LiftVue S15 monitor with a 15-inch panel costs $99 as part of the “Super Early Bird” offer, the S16Q with a 16-inch QHD panel costs $129, and the 18-inch version with QHD resolution costs $149. Prices do not include shipping costs, import sales tax, and customs duties. Delivery is expected to begin in September. As always, supporting crowdfunding campaigns carries the risk that products may be delivered late or with quality defects.
