Two new Casio Vintage watches with step tracker, bluetooth on their way

Casio is now reportedly expanding its ABL-100 lineup with two new variants — the ABL-100WE-2A with a navy dial and the ABL-100WE-7A with a grey dial — both expected to go on sale in July. The updates are purely cosmetic; the underlying hardware will be identical to the existing lineup.
The ABL-100 launched in Japan in August 2024, which made it the first Casio Vintage watch in the line's 40-plus-year history to feature Bluetooth and a step tracker. It was a big moment for the range — the square metal digital form factor had stayed largely unchanged for decades, and adding smart features without visually breaking the retro design was the challenge Casio pulled off reasonably well.
The watch measures 41.6 x 37.9 x 8.2 mm and uses a chrome-plated resin case with a stainless-steel multi-row bracelet. Both new variants carry the same specs as their predecessors: Bluetooth for automatic time correction and watch configuration via the Casio Watches app, a step tracker with a progress bar on the LCD, dual time, stopwatch with up to 200 lap records, countdown timer, five alarms, LED backlight, and 30 m water resistance. Battery life is approximately two years on a CR2016.
The step tracking keeps things simple by design — there are no workout modes, heart rate monitoring, or GPS. It's basically a pedometer with app sync, especially for active wearers who want daily step awareness (without switching to a smartwatch, that is).
Casio US launched the original silver and gold ABL-100 models at $79.95 and $99.95 respectively. The new colorways should land in a similar price bracket. No pricing has been officially confirmed.
