Casio brings the A140WE vintage series to the US, starting at $110

Casio has made the A140WE series available in the US, the latest stop in a rollout that began in Japan at the start of May. The A140WE takes a quieter, more rounded approach to Casio's Vintage aesthetic compared to the harder lines of older models in the range.
The series consists of three models. The A140WE-8A comes with a gray sunray dial and silver-tone case, and the A140WE-2A swaps that for a navy dial with the same silver finish — both are priced at $110. The third model, the A140WEG-9A, adds gold-ion plating over the resin case and a light gold dial for $130.
The case measures 39 by 36.8mm with a 10.4mm thickness and weighs 60 grams. The resin body is finished with either standard chrome plating or gold-ion plating depending on the model. Each watch comes on a multi-row stainless steel bracelet with a vertical hairline finish and a self-adjustable clasp designed to sit flat on the wrist.
On features, the A140WE runs on a CR2016 battery rated for seven years and includes a blue EL backlight and basic water resistance. The metal bracelet distinguishes it from the resin-strap versions that make up most of Casio's entry-level Vintage catalog, pushing the A140WE closer to the look of Casio's pricier F-series metal models without the corresponding price jump.
All three A140WE models are available now through Casio's US website and authorized retailers.
