Casio unveils new affordable retro watches in two colorways

Casio has now opened Japan preorders for two new colorways of its A130 digital watch, the WE-3AJF and WE-9AJF, both priced at ¥8,800 (~$54) and slated to ship in July 2026.
The A130 isn't new — it's Casio's long-running tribute to 1980s LC-analog digital watches, the kind that paired an analog-style dial readout with a small LCD window. These two versions keep that format intact: a square resin case on a stainless steel bracelet, with the WE-3A done in a green dial and the WE-9A in cream/off-white, both trimmed in steel-toned casing rather than the black or gold finishes Casio has used on past A130 releases.
Case dimensions come in at 40.5 x 33.9 x 9 mm and the watch weighs 54 g, which makes sense considering these watches' compact, lightweight footprint. The band is a free-style Nakadome stainless steel bracelet, adjustable between 150–205 mm.
On the functional side, nothing separates these from earlier A130 models. Both run world time across 48 cities (31 time zones plus UTC), a four-city multi-time display, a 1/100s stopwatch with split timing, a 24-hour countdown timer, five programmable alarms, full auto-calendar, and an amber LED backlight with adjustable afterglow. Accuracy is rated at ±30 seconds a month. Battery life is estimated at about three years, and the watch carries basic daily-use water resistance, not a dedicated depth rating.
There's plastic glass on top, consistent with the A130's budget positioning — this isn't a watch chasing premium materials in any capacity, it's just chasing the retro-digital look at an accessible price.
Both models are up for preorder now through Casio's Japan online store, with no word yet on wider international availability or pricing outside Japan.
