Goodram has reintroduced 4GB DDR4 modules with its Rival DDR4 Radiant lineup, targeting budget-conscious users as AI-driven memory demand pushes DDR4 and DDR5 prices sharply higher.

Due to the ongoing AI boom, which is pushing RAM prices to exorbitant levels and driving up demand, it has become nearly impossible to buy DDR4 and DDR5 RAM at retail prices for consumer builds. However, one Polish memory manufacturer is stepping into the tech industry with budget-friendly alternatives, albeit in cut-down sizes. 4GB RAM sticks are back, as Goodram has launched its Rival DDR4 Radiant series, which also includes 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB memory sticks.

In recent months, it has been nearly impossible to find brand-new DDR4 RAM in capacities as low as 4GB, but the company has managed to revive the old trend, primarily due to consumers increasingly scaling back spending because of cost. Meanwhile, high-capacity DDR5 and even DDR4 kits are becoming painfully expensive, with some 48GB & 64GB kits easily surpassing the $500 mark.

Goodram describes its new Rival DDR4 Radiant RAM sticks as memory “for gamers who want to get more out of their PC and reduce hardware limitations during gaming, streaming, and everyday multitasking.” Currently, the DDR4 Radiant series runs at 3200 MT/s with CL16 and CL18 timings and operates at voltages of 1.2 or 1.35 volts.

According to Goodram’s announcement, single 4GB DDR4 modules “have been far from the mainstream PC DIY market for many years; however, this small-capacity module product is returning to public view due to the severe supply-demand imbalance brought by the ‘super cycle’ in storage semiconductors.”

The Goodram memory modules feature jet-black PCBs with either green or red heatsinks and come with a lifetime warranty. Furthermore, these Goodram modules support dual-channel operation for kits with capacities of up to 64GB.

Due to the increase in DDR5 memory prices, which has left many users with no upgrade path to DDR5 systems, Goodram is positioning itself as the go-to alternative for gamers and users who want to make the most of their existing DDR4 setups and keep using them for the long run, at least until memory prices stabilize and PC component and hardware prices fall.

Currently, Goodram hasn’t officially revealed the pricing of its DDR4 dual-channel kits. However, early European retail listings from a Baltic tech supplier called AiO list its 64GB dual-channel memory kit for €622.99, or $710; the 32GB Rival Radiant memory kit for €320, or $345; the 16GB dual-channel kit for €150, or $160; and a single 8GB DDR4 memory stick for €78.99, or almost $90.
