The TerraMaster F4-425 Pro NAS features eight processor cores, 16 GB of RAM, four hard drive slots, and three M.2 SSD slots, all housed in a high-quality aluminum enclosure. With two Ethernet ports and several high-speed 10 Gbit/s USB ports, the NAS is designed to be particularly versatile.

The brand-new TerraMaster F4-425 Pro NAS is nearly identical to the F4-425 Plus, which we’ve already tested. However, TerraMaster has replaced the Intel N95 processor or the Intel N150 processor with either the Intel Core i3-N305 or the Intel Core 3 N350.

While the chips continue to use Intel Gracemont efficiency cores, both variants now feature eight CPU cores instead of just four, and a slightly larger iGPU with 32 execution units instead of just 16 to 24. The performance difference between the N305 and N350 is minimal; what matters more is that the more expensive model comes with 16 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB, although the RAM can be upgraded after purchase.

The TerraMaster F4-425 Pro can accommodate four hard drives and three M.2 SSDs. The SSDs can be used not only as a second storage pool but also as a cache for the hard drives to improve their performance. TerraMaster advertises speeds of up to 1,020 MB/s via two 5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports, whose bandwidth can be combined. With three USB-A ports and one USB-C port, each capable of data transfer rates up to 10 Gbit/s, storage can also be expanded using external hard drives.

Pricing and availability

The TerraMaster F4-425 Pro NAS is available with either an Intel N305 and 8 GB of RAM for $699.99 / £639.99, or with an Intel N350 and 16 GB of RAM for $799.99 / £729.99. The NAS is available on Amazon US and Amazon UK. For more details on the specifications, visit the official product page.
