TerraMaster F4-425 Pro NAS packs 8 CPU cores, 4 HDDs, and 3 SSDs in metal body

The brand-new TerraMaster F4-425 Pro NAS is nearly identical to the F4-425 Plus, which we’ve already tested. However, TerraMaster has replaced the Intel N95 processor or the Intel N150 processor with either the Intel Core i3-N305 or the Intel Core 3 N350.
While the chips continue to use Intel Gracemont efficiency cores, both variants now feature eight CPU cores instead of just four, and a slightly larger iGPU with 32 execution units instead of just 16 to 24. The performance difference between the N305 and N350 is minimal; what matters more is that the more expensive model comes with 16 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB, although the RAM can be upgraded after purchase.
The TerraMaster F4-425 Pro can accommodate four hard drives and three M.2 SSDs. The SSDs can be used not only as a second storage pool but also as a cache for the hard drives to improve their performance. TerraMaster advertises speeds of up to 1,020 MB/s via two 5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports, whose bandwidth can be combined. With three USB-A ports and one USB-C port, each capable of data transfer rates up to 10 Gbit/s, storage can also be expanded using external hard drives.
