Affordable Beelink NAS launches with compact design and 68TB storage support

Beelink has launched a new configuration of the ME Pro NAS, and it's more affordable than the ones released before. It comes with a board featuring the Intel Pentium Silver J5005, a low-power quad-core processor from the Gemini Lake family.
This Pentium processor can be paired with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and as for storage, the affordable NAS can hold 4 drives. Among them, two can be equipped in the M.2 slots, and each of them has support for up to a 4TB SSD. The other two can be installed in the SATA slots, and each of them can hold up to a 30TB drive. That makes the total storage support stand at 68TB.
The two-bay NAS is part of the modular ecosystem that Beelink has going on with its ME Pro lineup. That is, the mainboard can be swapped out, and so far, the company has released multiple options, including ones from AMD and Intel.
Another highlight of the NAS is its focus on being compact. As Beelink notes, the one-piece metal chassis has allowed the system to be 50% less in volume when compared to traditional two-bay HDD systems (all-flash Ugreen DH2300 curr. $199.99 on Amazon).
There's a good number of connectivity ports available as well. Specifically, this low-power NAS has the following port configuration:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 2x 2.5G LAN
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C
- 1x 3.5mm audio
- 1x HDMI
Price-wise, the barebone option of the ME Pro with the Pentium Silver J5005 costs CNY 999, about $147. There's another option with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for the OS, and it costs CNY 1,499, about $221.
