Asus has started selling a new gaming-focused mini-PC. Available internationally, the Asus ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 combines the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with a GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU in a transparent housing. Asus sells its new mini-PC with up to 128 GB of RAM, too.

Asus has quietly started selling a new version of the ROG NUC internationally. To recap, the company confirmed global pricing for the ROG NUC 16 at the start of June. Now available for $3,799 with a GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU, the ROG NUC 16 directly replaces the ROG NUC (2025) we reviewed less than a year ago (curr. $3,995 on Amazon).

Now, Asus has complemented the ROG NUC 16 with a dedicated 'Edition 20' variant. Launched during Computex 2026, the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 is currently being sold in China and the US, with greater availability in the former than the latter. However, Asus has listed its new limited edition mini-PC in other markets too, like the Eurozone and the UK.

In short, the Edition 20 distinguishes itself from the regular ROG NUC 16 with a transparent design complemented by golden accents. Additionally, Asus swaps the GeForce RTX 5080 for the GeForce RTX 5090. According to our benchmarks, this change should provide the Edition 20 with a circa 18% performance improvement in games, as well as 8 GB more VRAM than the GeForce RTX 5080.

Unfortunately, this performance improvement comes at a massive price increase compared to the regular ROG NUC 16. While that mini-PC was already comparatively expensive, the Edition 20 starts at $5,999 with a Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor, 64 GB of RAM and a 2 TB PCIe 5.0 SSD. In other words, the Edition 20 is 57% and $2,200 more expensive than the cheapest ROG NUC 16.

Meanwhile, the same Edition 20 configuration costs CNY 43,999 (~$6,469) in China. Alternatively, Asus sells a variant with 128 GB of RAM for CNY 51,999 (~$7,645). This version is not yet listed on Asus' other websites, though.
