The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro has just launched in China, and it's the company's answer to the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5. This flagship pad comes with an 185Hz OLED display, liquid cooling, and more, and it's already available globally, but via import.

After multiple delays, RedMagic has finally launched the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, its flagship pad with the top-end Snapdragon SoC. It's competing against the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, but RedMagic's offering has the upper hand in some aspects.

Right after the Chinese launch, RedMagic confirmed that the new OLED gaming tablet will be officially available in the global market on July 17, 2026. It will be called the Astra 2. For those who might want to get the pad a little earlier, Giztop has made it available to import.

On Giztop, the new RedMagic gaming tablet is available with a starting price of $939, which is for the configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This base config costs CNY 4,999, about $735.

Giztop is also offering the configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which is going for $1,139. This option costs CNY 6,999 in China, around $1,030. None of the configurations is affordable, even in China, and that's nothing out of the blue.

The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, for example, officially retails with a starting price of $849.99 (curr. $699.99 on Lenovo). As for the Astra 2, it's expected to be competitive, and it's possible that RedMagic will offer pre-launch promotions to make it offer more value than Lenovo's latest gaming tablet.

For those who might still be interested in importing the gaming tablet, it's worth noting that Giztop's warranty policy differs from the official one. The device will also ship with the Chinese firmware, and it may not offer an identical experience to the global version.
