Leak reveals possible specs of Nubia Z90 and RedMagic 12

ZTE's Nubia brand is known for its Nubia-branded smartphones and RedMagic gaming smartphone series. While it has revealed its plans for an AI-powered smartphone, a report says its other devices will exist alongside this new series. According to the source, Nubia is planning huge upgrades for the next Z series and RedMagic models.

Posted on Weibo by Digital Chat Station, Nubia is said to be developing the Nubia Z90 series which should succeed the Nubia Z80 Ultra released in October 2025. It is also developing the RedMagic 12 series, too. The posts says the phones will bring upgrades in key areas such as the display, camera, battery capacity, processor, and cooling system.

While not being specific, Digital Chat Station mentions the possibility of a new 1.5K display and a custom 35mm primary rear camera (for the next-gen Nubia Z series). The post also mentions a 10,000mAh class battery which will be a big upgrade from the 7500mAh battery inside the RedMagic 11S Pro and the 7200mAh battery capacity of the Nubia Z80 Ultra.

Both series are also expected to feature Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. There's also a mention of a new liquid and air dual-cooling system which is most likely for the RedMagic 12 series.

There's no info yet regarding when these new phones will be announced, but there's a chance they will be released this year. Once Qualcomm announces the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, the race to be the first brand to release a phone powered with the processor will begin.
