Demand for Samsung's Galaxy S26 shows no signs of abating

Four months after Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S26 series, the devices continue to fly off the shelves, both domestically in South Korea and internationally. Following stronger-than-expected demand upon launch in March, Samsung bumped up Galaxy S26 production from 2.4 million to 3 million units in April, that is, 1.3 million units for the Galaxy S26, 1.5 million units for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and 200,000 units for the Galaxy S26+ ($900 at Amazon).
According to a recent report from ET News, Samsung has once again increased production of its Galaxy S26 series in July to more than 1.5 million units, a 50% increase over the originally planned 1 million. Although a breakdown is not given, the report attributes the increased demand to large-scale promotional events and concerns that the Galaxy S27 series may see significant price hikes on the back of the memory crisis.
One-large scale promotional event was the nationwide "Samsung Electronics Appreciation Festival" in South Korea, which ran from June 8 to July 5. During this period, Samsung offered customers a 20% discount on its products via digital gift certificates, which reportedly drove Galaxy S26 series sales up nearly threefold. Similarly to April, the Galaxy S26 Ultra remains the standout performer, with its availability in South Korea pushed back to next month.
