Nubia launches Android tablet for ~$249 with 12-inch display, Widevine L1, and USB-C video output

Nubia has introduced a new Android tablet in Japan: the Nubia Pad Plus (Wi-Fi). It is a budget-oriented device that sports a 12-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Nubia Pad Plus (Wi-Fi) features the Unisoc T820, also known as the Unisoc T9100. For context, it is a 6nm chipset with an octa-core CPU and an ARM Mali-G57 MC4 GPU. The tablet comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

It features an 8,000mAh battery and supports 26W wired fast charging. According to the company, the tablet can provide up to 7.6 hours of video playback or 9.5 hours of web browsing. However, a charging adapter is not included in the box. The device has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The tablet ships with Android 16.

Other features include a quad-speaker system, Widevine L1 certification, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The tablet also carries an IPX2 water-resistance rating. Notably, the tablet's USB-C port supports video output, allowing the screen to be mirrored on a compatible external display.

The tablet comes in a gray color option, measures approximately 281 x 177 x 7.2mm and weighs around 550g. The Nubia Pad Plus (Wi-Fi) is available in Japan for JPY 39,800 (~$249). The company offers an optional keyboard with a touchpad for JPY 9,800 (~$61). A limited-quantity bundle containing the tablet and keyboard is also available for JPY 42,800 (~$268).
