New leaks reveal Galaxy S27 Ultra and Tab S12 series S Pen situation
To the chagrin of most fans and buyers, Samsung shipped the Galaxy S25 Ultra last year without a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen. The company continued on that path with the Galaxy S26 Ultra this year, and new information indicates a turnaround isn't planned.
According to leaker @kro_roe, the Galaxy Tab S12 series will yet again arrive with an S Pen lacking Bluetooth functionality. This is no surprise, of course, as the Tab S11 series already ditched S Pen Bluetooth support, following in the footsteps of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. As with recent devices lacking this feature, older S Pens with Bluetooth functionality will be able to connect to the Tab S12 tablets, but Air Actions and other wireless features will not work.
The source claims that the hardware for the Galaxy S27 Ultra is yet to be finalized, which some could take as introducing the possibility of S Pen Bluetooth support on the flagship phone. Seeing as the Tab S12 looks set to skip that feature, we wouldn't bet on that, however. In fact, another leak claims Samsung has prototypes of the S27 Ultra with the S Pen completely removed, seemingly in a bid to push the phone's battery capacity up to 7,000 mAh. Not a ridiculous thought considering the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Fold8 series do not offer S Pen support at all.
