Surprise! The Edge could be back on the menu with Galaxy S27 series, and even slimmer this time

After the failure of the Galaxy S25 Edge, it looks like Samsung wants to give the form factor another shot with the Galaxy S27 series. This would mean there will be five phones in the lineup, including the Galaxy S27 Pro model. At this point, these are very early rumours, so take the following with a pinch of salt.

Surprisingly, contradictory information about the Galaxy S27 Edge has surfaced online. Leaker @kro_roe shared on X early this morning (September 2) that the Galaxy S27 Edge is expected to have a 5.8-inch display, a thickness in the low 4 mm range, and a 4,300 mAh battery. Several hours later, @SPYGO19726 commented on the post, claiming the phone will have a 6.8-inch screen and a 5.4 mm thickness.

The first piece of information seems quite unlikely, as a sub-6-inch phone that has 4.5 mm or less thickness and that big a battery would be extremely challenging to pull off. For reference, the Galaxy S25 Edge was 5.8 mm thin with a 6.7-inch display. It packed a 3,900 mAh battery, which was just one of its weak points.

It is unclear what their source is, but neither has refuted the other’s claim yet. Interestingly, @SPYGO19726 did not refute the battery claim for the alleged Galaxy S27 Edge either, suggesting Samsung has either found a way to fit a 400 mAh larger battery in 0.4 mm less space, or it is finally switching to silicon-carbon.

For now, this seems to be the only piece of information suggesting the existence of the Galaxy S27 Edge. If true, there will be five phones in the lineup that should be unveiled either in January or February of next year.
