Upcoming Samsung flagship tablets set for huge price increase in Europe

Samsung is expected to release its next-gen flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12 lineup, soon. Specs and renders of the devices have leaked over the past few weeks, and a new report has now revealed pricing information for the devices in Europe.

According to Roland Quandt of Winfuture, the Galaxy Tab S12 series is set to launch with heavier price tags than the Tab S11 series did last year. For one, there will not be a vanilla Galaxy Tab S12, effectively raising the entry price tag. Two models will be released: the Tab S12+ and the Tab S12 Ultra, with the Tab S12+ starting at €1,299. 

That's for the SKU with 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and Wi-Fi connectivity alone, with the step up to the 12/512 GB configuration costing an extra €200. The 5G models are, of course, even more expensive. The 12/256 GB SKU of the Tab S12+ will apparently cost €1,449, while the 12/512 GB configuration is tipped to set buyers back €1,649.

Reportedly, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will start at €1,539 when equipped with 12/256 GB but without 5G. The 5G model is tipped to cost an extra €150. The source reveals no information on the flagship tablet's 1 TB models, but the 12/512 GB SKU without 5G is said to be priced at €1,739.

The lack of a vanilla Galaxy Tab S12 makes it difficult to make direct comparisons with last year's models. For some perspective, however, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra carried a €1,339 base price tag. The same configuration this year could cost an extra €200.
