Acer releases new tablet with 2.4K 90Hz display, 8,000mAh battery, and metal design

The Iconia Duo D12 is one of the three tablets Acer announced at Computex 2026, alongside the Iconia Duo S14 and S12. Positioned as the affordable option, it's now available to order in the US with an initial price of $349.99. That includes the tablet, magnetic kickstand, active stylus pen, and a detachable magnetic keyboard.

As its name suggests, the Iconia Duo D12 can work as a handheld tablet or switch to laptop mode with the included keyboard. However, the lower price comes with a few compromises compared to the S14 and S12. For one, it uses an IPS display instead of OLED. You still get a large 12.2-inch touchscreen with a 2400 x 1600 resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G99 is less powerful than the Dimensity 8300 and Dimensity 7400 in the S14 and S12, respectively. That said, it sits just behind the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G in performance, according to our benchmarks, so it should handle everyday tablet tasks like streaming and browsing without much trouble. Acer pairs the 6nm SoC with 128GB of UFS storage and only 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

Despite its more modest specs, the D12 still gets an all-metal aluminum alloy chassis, like its high-end cousins. It's fairly thin and lightweight, too, at 12.24 x 8.55 x 0.24 inches and 1.61 lbs. Inside, it packs an 8,000mAh (30.4Wh) battery, which is said to last up to 10 hours in official tests. 

The tablet runs Android 16 out of the box and comes with a 5MP front shooter and 8MP rear camera. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a single USB-C port. You can expand the storage through the microSD slot if the built-in 128GB fills up.

The Acer Iconia Duo D12 is listed on Amazon in the US for $349.99, including the keyboard, magnetic kickstand, and active stylus. However, it is currently marked as "Temporarily out of stock."
