Honor Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max specs leak with large 8,800 mAh battery and major camera upgrades
A new leak from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station lays out near-complete specifications for both the Honor Magic9 and Magic9 Pro Max, covering displays, chipsets, batteries, cameras, and color options for the two flagships ahead of their confirmed September 28 launch.
Display and Camera
The standard Magic9 reportedly gets a 6.37-inch 2664 x 1236 (1.5K+) LTPS panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and narrow bezels on all four edges. It is said to run on the previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with an 8,000 mAh battery, 80 W wired charging, and 50 W wireless charging.
The Magic9 Pro Max is tipped to step up to a larger 6.8-inch 2868 x 1320 (1.5K+) LTPO display at 120 Hz, powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, an 8,800 mAh battery, 100 W wired charging, and 80 W wireless charging.
Camera-wise, both models reportedly share a 55 MP f/2.0 square-format selfie camera (a format Apple introduced on the iPhone 17 series) and a 50 MP f/2.0 ultrawide lens. The standard Magic9's main camera is listed as a 200 MP 1/1.4-inch f/1.9 sensor, accompanied by a 200 MP 1/1.56-inch f/2.6 periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom. The Pro Max reportedly moves to a larger 200 MP 1/1.28-inch f/1.57 main sensor and a 200 MP 1/1.4-inch f/2.6 periscope telephoto.
Security and Color Options
The base Magic9 has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, while the Pro Max adds 3D facial recognition. Both have the same horizontally arranged Deco camera module, an "AI key," a dedicated camera button, and IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance. The Pro Max is additionally listed with a pair of symmetrical 12 x 16 mm speakers, matching the specifications of the outgoing Magic8 Pro.
Honor has also announced the color options on its JD store. The Magic9 is said to launch in four finishes: Popcorn Yellow, Olive Green, Morning White, and Curtain Black. The Pro Max is listed with three: Moss Green, Silver, and Shadow Black, a more understated palette compared with the standard model's brighter lineup.
Honor has confirmed that the Magic9 series will launch on September 28 in China, though pricing has not yet been announced. As with all pre-launch specification leaks rather than official material, final retail configurations may differ.
