Honor Magic 9 vs. Vivo X300 Ultra: Redesign aims to set new smartphone camera standards

There have already been a few leaks about the Vivo X500 series and Oppo's Find X10 generation, but what about the successors to the Honor flagships slated for late 2025 or early 2026? The former Huawei subsidiary is also hard at work on the successors to the Honor Magic 8 and Magic8 Pro, and a leaker on Weibo outlines what we might expect, although we can't guarantee the accuracy of these hints.
The suggestions don't sound entirely unrealistic, especially since the collaboration with cinema camera manufacturer Arri has been official since the presentation of the Robot Phone at MWC 2026. This partnership is expected to play a significant role in the Honor Magic 9 and Magic 9 Pro, potentially creating new competition for the current video champion in the Android camp, the Vivo X300 Ultra.
Of course, traditional photography will also be further improved thanks to two new 200 MP sensors, presumably for the main camera and telephoto lens. Beyond the camera upgrades, the leaker also expects a new design that is intended to appeal more strongly to a video-oriented, younger audience. Last but not least, we can also expect various new features in Magic OS 11, and the displays will apparently be flat on all models in the Magic9 series.
