Moto G47 launches with a new look, better build and FHD+ display

The Moto G4x series has gotten a refresh with the launch of the Moto G47. Since there was no Moto G46, the new phone is a follow-up to the Moto G45 released in August 2024, and it brings a lot of upgrades.

The Moto G47 now has an updated design, one that matches that of its siblings, the Moto G87, the Moto G37, and the Moto G37 Power. The build quality has also gotten better as it now boasts an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, MIL-STD-810H standard, and supports Water Touch.

The upgraded features of the Moto G47 bring starts from the display, which is not only larger at 6.67 inches but now has a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For comparison, the Moto G45 has a 6.45-inch 720p 120Hz display. Motorola has also upgraded the display protection from Gorilla Glass 3 to Gorilla Glass 7i.

Powering it is a Dimensity 6300 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of expandable UFS 2.2 storage. There are still two rear cameras which include a 108MP f/1.7 primary sensor with 3x lossless zoom and a 2MP f/2.4 macro vision camera. One of the holes on the back also houses a 2-in-1 light sensor. The front camera is an 8MP f/2.0 sensor which replaces the 16MP f/2.4 sensor of the Moto G45.

The Moto G45 has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an audio jack with Hi-Res Audio, and dual microphones. It also features Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 5), NFC, dual SIM support, and a fingerprint scanner. The battery capacity of the Moto G47 is 5,200mAh and it charges at up to 20W. It also has support for 6W reverse wired charging.

Motorola ships the Moto G47 with Hello UX based on Android 16. It is available in Pantone Nautical Blue, Pantone Fuchsia Red, and Pantone Impenetrable. Pricing for the Moto G47 starts at €319 and it will come with a TurboPower 20W charger and a protective case.
