Motorola launches new smartphone with triple 50 MP cameras and 144 Hz AMOLED display

Motorola is expected to expand its Edge smartphone series globally soon with new models. In the meantime, the company has launched the Edge 70 Pro in India. As usual, Motorola's new Edge smartphone adopts a curved display, multiple striking finishes and a squircle-shaped camera housing with three rear-facing cameras and an LED flash that gives the impression of a four camera being included.
Motorola equips the Edge 70 with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 2,772 x 1,272 pixels with a 450 PPI, a 144 Hz refresh rate and up to 5,200 nits of peak brightness (1,800 nits HBM). Also, the company offers its new smartphone in Lily White, Titan and Tea finishes, all of which are Pantone-certified. Moreover, the Edge 70 Pro comes with the following cameras
- Primary: 50 MP, Sony Lytia 710, f/1.8 aperture, OIS
- Ultra-wide: 50 MP, 12 mm equivalent focal length, 122-degree field of view, f/2.0 aperture
- Auxiliary third rear-facing camera
- Front-facing: 50 MP, f/1.8 aperture, auto focus
Additionally, Motorola has installed a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 90 W wired and 5 W reverse wired charging. This large battery combines with UFS 4.1 flash storage, LPDDR5X RAM and the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme, an apparently new version of the chipset that underpins the Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro (curr. $387 on Amazon). The Edge 70 Pro starts at INR 38,999 (~$415) with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, Motorola sells a 12 GB RAM variant for INR 41,999 (~$449). Sales will start on April 29.
