Vivo launches Y500s alongside the Y600 Pro with massive 10,200 mAh battery

Vivo is launching back-to-back smartphones in the Chinese market. This time around, the smartphone maker has launched the all-new Vivo Y500s smartphone. On top of this, the brand also unveiled the Vivo 600 Pro smartphone, which is said to feature a massive 10,200 mAh battery. The device will support 80 W wired charging. We already covered the Y600 Pro separately, and you can read about it here.
Speaking about the Y500s, the smartphone is very similar to the recently launched Y6t, albeit with few tweaks. Though, the company has added slightly better camera specs into the smartphone compared to the Y6t. To be more precise, the Y500s ships with a 50 MP primary camera paired with an unknown sensor. For context, the Y6t only has a 13 MP camera on its back.
The device is powered by a 4 nm-based Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor paired with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. This is the same processor found on Vivo’s recently launched Y6t smartphone. As for the screen, it boasts a 6.75-inch LCD display with 1570 x 720p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Upfront, there’s an 8 MP camera with an f/2.1 aperture for capturing selfies and video chats. The smartphone is equipped with a large 7,200 mAh battery that supports 44 W wired charging (Anker Nano 45 W GaN charger curr. at $27.99 on Amazon).
The Vivo Y500s starts at CNY 1,800 ($265) for the base 8 GB + 256 GB model, while the 12 GB + 256 GB and 8 GB + 512 GB variants are priced at CNY 2,200 and CNY 2,200 (~$320), respectively. Buyers can choose from black, gold, and silver color options. The smartphone is now available for purchase in China via Vivo’s online store.
