Xiaomi: New budget smartphone launching globally with massive battery and 144 Hz display

Xiaomi has introduced numerous smartphones already this year, with plenty more on the way. For instance, it released the Redmi A7 Pro last month for around $100. Meanwhile, the company will begin selling the Redmi K90 Max on April 21 powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset.
Additionally, it has quietly confirmed the existence of a new Poco M8 series handset. For context, the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro debuted simultaneously in January. Now, these have been joined by the larger Poco M8s, which spans 169.5 x 80.4 x 8.4 mm thanks to its 6.9-inch display.

In short, the Poco M8s is a re-branded Redmi 15 (curr. $199 on Amazon). As a result, the new smartphone also features a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, a 7,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP primary camera. The Poco M8s boasts a 144 Hz refresh rate across its 1080p display too, as well as 33 W wired charging support for its large battery.
Moreover, Xiaomi has certified the device to IP64 dust and water resistance. Currently, Xiaomi has not revealed when the Poco M8s will be available to purchase. However, it has listed the device on its global website while confirming the following Early Bird pricing across its social media channels:
- 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage - $189
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage - $219
