Huawei Pura 90 launches with a powerful telephoto camera at mid-range price

Together with the Pura 90 Pro Max camera flagship, Huawei also unveiled the more affordable Pura 90 today. The high-quality mid-range smartphone is based on a slightly smaller version of Huawei's now typical triangular camera module. With a flat metal frame and thin screen bezels as well as a pill-shaped punch-hole, the Huawei Pura 90 offers a modern design.
The body is IP68-certified and therefore water-resistant. As usual with the Pura series, the focus is primarily on the cameras. Huawei has installed a 50 MP f/2.0 selfie camera, which is supported by a sensor for more accurate colors. The camera module on the back houses a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 12.5 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50 MP f/2.2 periscope telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS.
Although the Huawei Pura 90 is relatively thin with a thickness of 7.0 mm, Huawei was able to install a battery with a capacity of 6,500 mAh, which can be charged via USB-C with up to 100 watts or wirelessly with 50 watts. The 6.8-inch LTPO OLED panel achieves a resolution of 2,856 x 1,320 pixels and the frame rate can be variably adjusted from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. A HiSilicon Kirin 9010S, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 complete the package.
