Daniel Radcliffe ranks the Harry Potter films – this installment unexpectedly takes the top spot

Among Potterheads, the debate over the best Harry Potter film will probably never end. That makes it all the more interesting for fans to see which entries Daniel Radcliffe himself prefers. Appearing on SP!VIN, the actor was asked to rank all eight films. The ranking was not presented as a traditional list, however, but as a head-to-head bracket. Radcliffe had to choose directly between two films at a time, so the final result might well have looked different if he had simply been asked to list his favorites.
In the first round, Chamber of Secrets beats Philosopher’s Stone. In the second, Radcliffe chooses Goblet of Fire over Prisoner of Azkaban – a decision that clearly does not come easily to him. Order of the Phoenix then defeats Half-Blood Prince. In the final matchup of the opening round, Deathly Hallows – Part 2 beats Part 1. In the semifinal, Radcliffe puts Goblet of Fire ahead of Chamber of Secrets, while Deathly Hallows – Part 2 prevails over Order of the Phoenix. In the final, Deathly Hallows – Part 2 defeats Goblet of Fire and takes the top spot.
Seeing the final Harry Potter film at the top of the ranking comes as a surprise to many fans. Within the fandom, it is usually Prisoner of Azkaban or Goblet of Fire that is singled out as the strongest entry. Half-Blood Prince is also attracting attention in the Instagram comments. While many fans consider its early exit justified, others would rank it much higher because of its darker atmosphere and stronger character development.
