These scenes are a must for HBO’s Harry Potter series, according to fans

Compared with the films, HBO’s Harry Potter series will have much more room to tell the story. Potterheads therefore expect to see many scenes that were omitted from the films for time reasons. On Reddit, fans are already discussing emotional moments they would like to see in the series adaptation. At the top of the list is a scene with Harry and Molly Weasley.
The scene in question takes place at the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It is the moment when Harry breaks down in the hospital wing after Cedric’s death and is comforted by Molly Weasley. Fans consider this moment so important because it is the first time Harry truly feels what it is like to be held by a mother. Molly’s gift for Harry’s 17th birthday, the watch that belonged to her late brother Fabian, is also mentioned frequently.
As can be gathered from Reddit, many fans would also like to see Harry portrayed as more emotional overall. One frequently mentioned example is the scene in Dumbledore’s office after Sirius’ death, in which Harry, overwhelmed by rage and despair, tears the entire office apart. For many fans, the films softened this pain too much. Another scene that could already appear in the first season of HBO’s adaptation is the one with the Mirror of Erised. Fans want Harry’s longing for family to come across much more strongly here than it did in the films.
Another much-requested scene revolves around fan favorite Neville Longbottom. In Book Five, Neville visits his parents in the hospital together with Harry and the others. His parents had been tortured with the Cruciatus Curse. Neville’s mother no longer properly recognizes him, but hands him a candy wrapper, which Neville carefully pockets. For many, this is one of the most emotional book moments that was not shown in the films. The books leave plenty of room for other scenes that have not yet been adapted. Readers who can think of other emotional book moments are welcome to share them in the comments section.
